Frequently Asked Questions - Services
Calculator Loan Program
The library now has 10 Texas Instrument TI-84 calculators available for check-out (4 at Main Info; 4 at Science-Engineering reference; and 2 and Fine Arts reference). This particular brand of calculator was purchased based on the recommendation of the math department.
Calculators are available for a four hour loan and there is an instructional book and a CD-ROM to address questions on how to use them. There are also USB cables available to install any additional software that is available on the CD-ROM for the TI-84.
Late/replacement fees are charged at the same rate as 4-hour reserve materials.
Reference Resources on the library homepage lists a number of online calculators to which one may link.
Change - where can I get change?
There are no change machines in the Main, Science-Engineering, Fine Arts or Center for Creative Photography Libraries. You may get change at the Express Document Center on the 1st Floor of the Main Library.
Family Rooms
Private rooms are available in the Main and Science-Engineering Libraries for mothers and their babies.
These rooms are available for breastfeeding/nursing, using breast pumps and other infant/child-care activities. They have a comfortable chair, table and trash can.
For privacy and protections, we:
- do not advertise the location of these rooms
- keep them locked with a keypad
- have covered their windows
- call them 'family' rather than breastfeeding rooms
Please ask at the front Information Desks of Main or Science-Engineering Libraries for access to the 'family' room and library staff will assist you.
Changing tables are located in the 2nd floor restrooms at both the Main & Science-Engineering Libraries.

Tours for University of Arizona Groups
- UA-affiliated groups are welcome to tour the library on their own. If you need information to prepare for the tour, please contact us first.
Tours for Groups Not Affiliated With the University of Arizona
- The Library and the Undergraduate Services Team (UST) do not have sufficient staff to provide library tours for non-UA affiliated groups. For independent tours we request that persons under age of 18 be accompanied by an adult at a ratio of 8-10 youth/children per adult. Exceptions to this policy need to be approved by the Undergraduate Services Team. As a courtesy to the library, if you are planning to bring in a group larger than 10 individuals, please contact us first.
- School Groups - The Undergraduate Services Team (UST) works with the University Office of Undergraduate Admissions to provide interactive tours for high school students as a part of the students' activities on campus coordinated through the Office of Admissions. We also provide training and/or information for high school teachers or librarians, so they can lead tours of the University Library for their students. If interested in learning more about this, please contact us.
- Other Non-UA affiliated tours requests - The Library is a public building, so groups may come in on self-guided tours.
