United States Statistics:

American FactFinder
Available through the U.S. Bureau of the Census web page.  Can easily display and print tables and maps from the 1990 and 2000 Census.  You can display, print or download maps and data.

Census of Agriculture
Includes national, state, and county data for 2002, 1997, and 1992.  Also includes the Agricultural Atlas of the United States.

Census of Population and Housing
Includes Population and Housing statistics, Census Geography, and Economic Geography. You can download data and create maps. Also includes the online version of printed reports.

Census Historical Census Data Browser
This is an excellent source for state and county census data from 1790 to 1960.

Census TIGER 2000 Data
Includes commonly used Census boundary files and demographic data to download.

CIESIN Gateway
CIESIN specializes in on-line data and information management, spatial data integration and training, and interdisciplinary research related to human interactions in the environment.

Current Population Survey
The Current Population Survey (CPS) is a monthly survey of about 50,000 households conducted by the Bureau of the Census for the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The survey has been conducted for more than 50 years.

DataPlace
Provides social/demographic, income/employment, housing, mortgage lending, and federal expenditures data for metropolitan area and places (cities & towns).  Can also map out data and compare to other cities. 

Economic Census
Profiles American business every 5 years from national to the local level.

FFIEC Geocoding System

Social Explorer
Provides maps and data from the U.S. census from 1940-2000 at the state, county and census tract level.  Also includes time series maps for Los Angeles County, New York City, and Queens County, NY.

Provides access to information and data in the social and natural sciences.

Sociometrics Social Science Electronic Data Library

Alan Guttmacher Institute
A wealth of statistical data and articles on reproductive issues, sexual behavior, family formation, law & public policy, and related socioeconomic issues. The Institute's mission is to protect the reproductive choices of all women and men in the United States and throughout the world.

WDI Online (World Development Indicators Online)
Database from the World Bank to 600+ development indicators for 208 countries and 18 country groups from 1960 to 2004 where available. Indicators include people (population, labor/employment, income, education, health), environment (land use, energy production/use, urbanization, emissions, adj. savings), global links (development assistance/aid, migration, tourism/trade), economy and states and markets.
